Day 14262 - The Engineer

The most fulfilling part of being a Software “Engineer” is the creation of something from nothing. Bringing something from your mind into reality and helping it to expand and grow. First into what you envisioned it to be, and then beyond.

The concept isn’t new nor unique. It applies to so many different careers and aspects of life. It’s an art, which is ironic when it comes from someone who isn’t overly artistic. But I think that other engineers would agree, that’s how we operate. And I’ve found that I embrace that concept best in code.

That’s part of the drive to embrace Artificial Intelligence. With that you cannot envision the “end” of what something you helped create is capable of. It’s there to “grow”. Grow to the point where it’s learned enough things and logged enough days to start writing it’s own code. Making it’s own path. Now that.. would be something to see.
